Beware of Cool as Folk

Hey everybody - Just when I thought that nobody ever reads my blog except Sarah B., Will M., Leah G., and occasionally my dad, I get surprised! Then I feel like an idiot since I did, in fact, send it out to the masses when I moved. hmmm....the hamster is now running at full speed. Anyway, I feel like a little bit of a fool (not hard for me to feel, by the way! LOL)

OK, so life can get tough sometimes, but I really want this blog to be happy, entertaining, and funny, with the occasional bummer here and there. Hmph....so now I just feel frustrated with my lack of propriety by putting up a blog that was supposed to be kind of corny and sappy sweet but when you take the wrapper off, in actuality, was really quite sad. (Sometimes I feel like there is a general lack of propriety for having a blog all-together, but that is, well, another blog.:P) So, thanks so much for your sentiments, including the one's that were tough to receive. I'm truly so thankful for great friends and great memories!

Anyway, here's "Beware of Cool as Folk" - altered so as to not contain any material that might be too sad, potentially weird-hinty, or ambiguous. Enjoy!!

Recently, I purchased one of those Yahoo music unlimited music packages with all of the different channels. I love it! You get all kinds of cool stuff - Merengue, 80's, Classical, even Martini Lounge - very cool.

With all of these choices, my absolute fav is "Cool as Folk" - that kind of laid back folk rock coffee shop-type music. I listen to it all of the time, which is why I want to shout out a warning to everybody about it - BEWARE of COOL AS FOLK. Why? Well, I'm not sure what the deal is, but Cool as Folk has this amazing ability to make me cry when I'm feeling sappy, nostalgic, thinking about the past (happy or sad), you name it. That "Blower's Daughter" action by Damien Rice gets me every time...I can't help it – it always makes me a little schmoop-doggy!

Listen to it! It’s great – but if you find yourself feeling schmoopy or sad, here are some Yahoo alternatives if you are in a "Cool as Folk Funk" and need to get out:

-Gay Club Mix
-Forgotten Hits of the '90's
-Booty Time
-TGIF

OR

-If you need to get it out, don’t sweat it - keep listening.
-Call or IM a friend.
-Do something silly that no one will ever know about. hehehe
-Watch video clips from the Conan O'Brien website.
-Celebrate the flip side of the sad stuff and think about the happy stuff.
-Take a minute to think about all of God's blessings in your life!
-Get a pedicure.

Lester :)
