Getting a Little Nervous

It's about 11:40, and I just finished up some last-minute touch-ups on my last assignment of the semester, due Tuesday. After a quick teeth-brushing and easing into bed, it hit me. Right now, at this very moment, I am on my laptop, surfing the internet, reading the news, having a QT, etc., and I DON'T FEEL GUILTY. I don't feel like there is something else that I need to be doing, reading, writing, obsessing over, etc. Right here, right now, I can just relax. It's a weird feeling and it will, of course, not last too long.

Next week, I train for my two-semester internship at a battered women's shelter in town. I'm excited, but getting nervous. At this moment, I'm more nervous about the schedule then about what I'll be doing (I think I'm numb or in denial about the actual therapy part....I'm sure that I'll deal with that soon enough). I'll be working my full-time job and doing 12-15 hours at the internship, plus a class thrown in (well, two classes...I'll be taking acting this fall as well.) Anyway, I feel like I work hard, but I definitely will never classify myself as a workaholic! It will definitely be an adjustment. Not only am I going to be in overdrive, but the internship will also really cramp my style when it comes to weekend plans, etc. It could be worse, I know, but it's not something I'm used to.

I hope to learn so much, but I know that this next year is going to be rough ("really suck" sounds too negative....I'm an optimist. :)) Anyway, just wanted to share - It's late. For now, I'm enjoying the peace and quiet......

I agree with your brother...Hi Leslie! My name's Little Cletus and I'm here to tell you a few things about child labor laws, ok? They're silly and outdated. Why back in the 30s, children as young as five could work as they pleased; from textile factories to iron smelts. Yippee! Hurray!
